This is a really good example of why the people trying to identify and censor "hate speech" are going to lose, and very possibly succumb to real mental illness in the process.

Rember not to get caught up in too much doomscrolling. :ablobcatbongopat: rember the good things around you no matter how smol.

imho DHH just has a radically different approach from much of the rest of IT people, just like d. richard hipp.

@ThatCrazyDude @Sophistifunk lovelock proposed that farmers should convert brushwork they regularly cut to charcoal using that to build up terra preta.

it's not that there aren't plenty of cheap low tech ideas which don't require collectivist hell. really makes you think.

Interesting thing:

Having a son with apraxia has been surprisingly valuable for demonstrating that certain sounds that feel different are actually not. For example, he has trouble with fricatives, so when he wants "Baby Shark" he says something like "Baby Hyark." "Hy-" in my head is nothing like "sh-" but when you actually do it in your mouth it's very close. It's weird how alphabets separate you mentally from what your mouth does.

@bonifartius

I heard joke once: Man goes to doctor. Says he's depressed. Life seems harsh, and cruel. Says he feels all alone in threatening world. Doctor says: "Turns out that matrix homeservers written in different languages have json interoperability issues, so you might just get random events or requests that fail signature checks between different types of matrix servers because no one knows exactly how to get it right. synapse, the flagship implementation, simply relies on python’s sort_keys and calls it a day, to hilarious effect." Good joke. Everybody laugh. Roll on snare drum. Curtains.
