@onan indeed, there are many interesting people in the world. i was listening to marshall tucker band "pass it on" which prompted me to think about this. all the old people i now know are total boomers. it's tiring. i'm happy though that i had the chance to listen to stories of people born when the world was another - not necessarily better but different.

> And if there were no other interesting people, why, then the least effort on my part makes me The Most Interesting Man In The World.

haha :D

the realization that there are almost no interesting old people left now. no great stories. no tales of the olden days which really were different. boomers effectively lived their whole life in the same world we are in, only that things were improving all the time.

@genmaicha cool historical buildings are nearly everywhere in europe, same goes for landscapes :P

a landscape classic in germany is the rhine valley, where you also can see some castles. iirc, there's a pretty nice train line going along that part of the rhine. you can get pretty decent food in this region of germany, it's a kind of mixture of traditional french (not the small birds, drowned in booze bullshit) and german cuisine.

i think the medium sized and small towns in germany (probably everywhere in europe) are often the better ones to visit, there is cool historic stuff there too and everything is cheaper and not as dirty as in the metropoles.

Again, Bakhmut is totally worthless, who even cares, not strategically important anyways

And of the urgency in transitioning from high input, high tillage monocropping toward more diversified no/low-till systems incorporating perennial crops

@josemanuel yes!

the good thing is that cutting the sysadmin costs always backfires :) i want to see the snap update when something database is broken, which will inevitably happen. then it's the snaps fault for these people. never accepting their own responsibility, ever wanting free stuff to work perfectly.

@lain @Tiskaany girl are you a prompt because you are thin girl red hair big boobs
But why would discord make me pick a new username when it's my server?

Kaczynski was psychologically tortured while at Harvard, quoting his wikipedia article

"In his second year at Harvard, Kaczynski participated in a study described by author Alston Chase as a "purposely brutalizing psychological experiment" led by Harvard psychologist Henry Murray. Subjects were told they would debate personal philosophy with a fellow student and were asked to write essays detailing their personal beliefs and aspirations. The essays were given to an anonymous individual who would confront and belittle the subject in what Murray himself called "vehement, sweeping, and personally abusive" attacks, using the content of the essays as ammunition. Electrodes monitored the subject's physiological reactions. These encounters were filmed, and subjects' expressions of anger and rage were later played back to them repeatedly. The experiment lasted three years, with someone verbally abusing and humiliating Kaczynski each week. Kaczynski spent 200 hours as part of the study."

This was probably an MK ULTRA experiment but we'll never know for sure.
