@dsfgs i think it's inherent in the "climate" movement. the overwhelming majority of things done there is virtue signalling and selling new "one-size-fits-all" solutions to replace "old" technology. which then goes straight to the landfill as recycling is a goddamn lie.

this happens with the side-effect of increased pollution, especially in the 2nd and 3rd world.

these people pat themselves on the back for how green they are. how much they saved the world by doing things which have no measurable impact, while they should go to the next forest to pick up trash.

@mangeurdenuage i recently saw beautifully carved wooden chairs being thrown away. it's heartbreaking, those things last centuries :(

Back. I helped my mother move her stuff.
Moved some of mine too. Found back my nes, and game boy (needs repair) and n64.

The game boy was a gift from a friend in england :rember: but it went down one day and was going to repair it but got issues.

The nes I got it for 15 bucks a long time ago, the original one we had in england was thrown away with the megadrive after I was 4 years old because my mother didn't like my father and I playing on it often.

The n64 was gifted to me at christmas when I was 10yo. Vid related.
The n64 has a green spot on it which is lead paint that I don't remember how I got it on my hands at the time :akko_derp:

re: :parrot: arthropod of the day :parrot:

The blue crab (Callinectes sapidus) is known for its color and delicious flavor. The crab's scientific name means "savory beautiful swimmer." While blue crabs do have sapphire blue claws, their bodies are usually duller in color.

Like other decapods, blue crabs have 10 legs. However, their hind legs are paddle-shaped, making blue crabs excellent swimmers. Blue crabs have blue legs and claws and olive to grayish blue bodies. The color comes mainly from the blue pigment alpha-crustacyanin and the red pigment astaxanthin. When blue crabs are cooked, heat deactivates the blue pigment and turns the crab red.

Mating and spawning occur separately. Mating occurs in brackish water during warm months between May and October. Mature males molt and mate with multiple females over their lifespan, while each female undergoes a single molt into her mature form and only mates once. As she nears the molt, a male defends her against threats and other males. Insemination occurs after the female molts, providing her with spermatophores for a year of spawning. The male continues to guard her until her shell hardens. While mature males remain in brackish water, females migrate to high salinity water to spawn.

Roman Marble Sundial (1st Century AD), was located in forum or in a place very close to it, of city of Baelo Claudia, Spain.

Clock face is a conical projection of the celestial sphere. Three transverse lines represent path of sun during winter and summer equinoxes and solstices. Eleven longitudinal lines mark the hour circles, which divide line of the equinoxes into twelve equal spaces.

@dsfgs spot on about the climate justice people ignoring all other issues, often making them worse!

We're being forced offline on 8 Oct, some things have not sat right for us and must be aired.

We believe the way #climateJusticeSocial goes on about #climate while near totally neglecting all other #environmentalism makes it an #astroturf instance. We could be wrong but we actually believe the owner is false, possibly with ties to #corporateState for surveillance rather than resistance.

They began treating us with clear neglect. No reason. We concluded #controlledOpposition shortly after.

@dsfgs just export your data and move to another instance, that's what makes things like fedi great, no lock-in.
