@louis i always wondered why mysql/mariadb has such a bad reputation while postgres is supposedly the last word in databases. i never had problems with mysql.

my favorite sql database is still sqlite and anything i'll have a say in will be "sqlite first".

I've been with my wife for over 20 years. Marrying her was the best decision of my life.
Marriage is trust. It is the reflection of a belief of the permanence of the union.

You are the one who distrusts. You believe that one day your girlfriend will change her mind. You similarly are unwilling to commit, because you distrust your own decisions.

If you trust, there is no reason to not get married.
There is no higher spiritual union than a monogamous relationship. When it fails, it's because one or both parties were unwilling to give themselves to the union.

If a person cannot even care for one other person unconditionally, if they can't demonstrate commitment and loyally, how can they be trusted?

And being intimately involved with another through the good and the bad, and to rear children with them, is an excellent way to understand one's self and what it means to be human.

I'm tired of kids who are wet behind the ears telling me about marriage. They're just coping with the fact that they're generally insufferable people who are unable to form any meaningful relationships. They think they know everything about humanity and society and its ills and what it takes to save it, but can't even commit to one other person. Smfh.

If you stray beyond the narrow bounds of approved discourse, two consequences will be familiar. The first is that it becomes harder to get a hearing about anything. The second is that if you do manage to say anything it will be taken as proof that you have not been silenced.

This is the logic of witch-ducking. If a woman drowns, she isn’t a witch; if she floats, she is, and must be dispatched some other way. Either way, she ends up dead.

@mushroom_soup I’ve kept doves, they’re very sweet and gentle hearted. Much akin to rats in that their role as this thing considered disease derives from human beings refusing to live in harmony with nature, and instead living in degenerate ways that actively spit in the face of nature.
