Hartz-IV-Empfängerin wehrt sich erfolgreich gegen Jobcenter-Schikane

man könnte mitarbeiter der "jobcenter" mal n paar tage bei ~4°C auf dem balkon platzieren.

jesus i didn't even realize this was going to have linguistic implications. what the fuck is wrong with their parents, was everyone wearing masks at home too!??

this is actually a tiny bit terrifying because there's something in linguistics called the "critical language acquisition period". if you don't learn a language during that period, even a wack-ass language without recursion like Pirahã, you will thereafter not be able to learn any human language and will probably live the rest of your life more or less feral. doesn't matter how intelligent you are. you can have a 300-point IQ and still wind up permanently unable to share complex thoughts with other human beings if you don't learn some sort of language during that time

the good news is, this is a large time window, roughly from 2-13 years old. and that means that any damage done by the coof laws can probably still be repaired, IF we never do this shit again and parents make sure kids with severe language abnormalities get to speech pathologists asap (which in america doesn't seem very likely -- would insurance even cover that for most people??). but this shit needs to end before it winds up causing kids permanent harm

You'd be most welcome here of course. It does seem we fit your criteria, we are relatively pro-free speech, our rules explain our views on that, basically opinions wont ever get you banned. Most of our team is more centrist than right wingers, as the founder I often point out a distaste for right wing politics, im more centrist myself. I am ok with capitalism though so that might be a deal breaker for you. I generally lean towaqrds styles of governments that are capitalistic with strong welfare support programs like free education and the like.

We are extremely strong int he free software department and I am an FOSS developer for many projects myself.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Ahem, an independent organisation lobbying for a public-funded web browser is technically just as much “political interference” as Google lobbying for the opposite. Any government or international structure such as EU is the sum of political interferences, and it’s only a problem when these are not balanced or some stakeholders are not represented.

If Canadians start practicing mass sabotage I will never talk shit ever again.

So after a week of using KDE on Slackware, I have to say that I think I may be a convert for good. I know it isn't super minimalistic, like I usually prefer, but it is nice. That's for sure. Very very smooth experience. And Slackware, of course, just rocks no matter what.

I've heard a lot about how functional programming doesn't have side effects.

Can someone please explain that to me?
