re: trolls

There is a difference between pointing out the unethical practices of a company, and using this information as leverage to actually hide and spew ones bigotry.

@arefgee, how does one hide and spew bigotry at the same time? To quote the first post in this thread that you replied to,

at least they got female ceo who works for a fraction of the usual “compensation” in the industry so we should be grateful they killed all technical branches of mozilla and bought shitty services like pocket instead, so progressive.

it would only be bigoted if you are unable to sense sarcasm. To rephrase, @bonifartius meant to pick on the two excuses used to defend the corporation:

The CEO is a woman, and thus it is progressive, regardless of how dispensable labors are treated.
The CEO is doing humanity a favor by accepting a relatively low compensation, despite it being multi-million-dollar and her and managements’ execution of shutting down multiple important division such as servo.

More importantly, this was not your argument to jump into. Even if it was public.

Are you acting this entitled like you are a higher class of human being just because I am from a third-world country or that is how you treat others in general? /s

Of all the other replies and original post, this is the only thing that attracted to you reply.

I jumped into where I jumped into because later down the threat it became mostly personal insults thanks to your trolling and escalation. How could you keep calling names without proper justification while pretend to preach against bigotry?

In the end, what you have done just now is to help an individual begin to form a mob.

I hope you are just trolling, because otherwise you are the one radicalizing others against progress by channeling resentment and being unlikable. I am ashamed that there exist people like you also claiming to be leftist (or against right-extremist), while all you seek is provocation.

re: trolls

Oh please, @bonifartius, don’t call @arefgee a social justice warrior. There’s nothing social or just about laying off a quarter of the employees while giving a 17% raise to the CEO who was already getting a seven-figure paycheck. Saying it’s misogynistic to criticize this, really, when a significant portion of the people who lost their job at Mozilla were women? Boi o’boi, @Mek101, I agree that this is some of the most hysterical and hypocritical take to defend Mozilla Corporation ever.

To be clear, I am grateful of Mozilla’s works on maintaining Firefox and I’ve been continuously using it over a decade, but I have zero sympathy with the corp’s executives when they were and are being shit on for their unethical and stupid business decisions.

Baby formula shortage seems like another example of reporting where it would be beneficial to tell people about the least bad way to ration and substitute formula instead of letting parents figure it out in a panic when the last bottle is gone.

Like you've got three days supply, the stores are empty, the doctors office has none, and Craigslist is a bust. Do you just proceed as normal for three days and then switch to water or what? But we can't tell people what's best or they won't try hard enough to drive 100 miles looking for more formula.

TIL that a lot of heatsinks are made with a process called 'skiving', which basically means 'scraping' fins out of the base material.

I always thought they were milled or extruded!

@arefgee @Mek101 @bonifartius

I've not engaged in this thread, so I think you mistagged me in your reply. But I'll add my 2¢ re: Firefox and Chromium.

I've been a Firefox user since 0.8, but recently switched to Brave. I made the switch partly over the CEO bonus and laying off Mozilla staff.

However vs Chromium, it's also,

1) Less secure:

madaidans-insecurities.github.

2) Less private:

privacytests.org

3) Less performant:

testdrive-archive.azurewebsite

I keep it around for Jitsi however.
