Advice to husbands: Try praising your wife now and then, even if it does startle her at first.

I found an useful utility for memory leaks debug:
github.com/WuBingzheng/memleax
memleax debugs memory leak of a running process by attaching it, without recompiling or restarting. this allows to trace the leaks that appear while a program runs, before it exists and cleans up everything. it allows to set up the timeout for cleanup and catch leaks that dwell for long periods of time.

I tried to use it on my Linux built with musl libc and it didn't work. I fixed it and I put the fixed version for musl here:
git.ironbug.org/memleax/tree/

I haven't checked this fix on glibc build (just haven't one at the moment at hand). but with musl it works fine.

My predictions for 2033 headlines:

“Bridges are a reminder of the edifice of white supremacy, and it’s good they are collapsing.”

“You don’t have a right to baby formula if you’re anti-choice.”

“Movies aren’t good anymore… but they never were.”

“You have your pets groomed, so why not your kids?”

“Is your family predicting an economic downturn? 3 Troubling signs of fascist ideology.”

“We need to talk about the Christian Problem.”

“Do your kids have proper access to porn? They might be developing nazi tendencies if not…”

oh wow! thats a big loss of potential revenue! dont even think about it!! so not worth it.
Now go back to work lul

Should libraries run search engines? It seems that the original point of a library was to organize human knowledge and culture for the public benefit. The benefit has been great, but libraries aren't the main tool for finding information now. Search engines are. The notion that a library needs to be for books only is an arbitrary limitation. This oversight allowed corporations to move into that traditionally non-profit role, and I'm not convinced they've done a particularly good job.

Must read for all, regardless of opinion on covid responses... includes a few video clips.

It's reported more people died in #Yemen in last week than in #Ukraine - Does that matter to those in #EU who say they care about the victims of War..? We are 100% right to care for victims of war in Ukraine - Does Western complicity in Yemen deaths rule out compassion for them.?

Today, I dragged @StuartBeveridge to Chorley to see a fantastic bridge.

Because the railway and canal are at such a sharp angle, a normal arch wouldn't stay up. Instead, the stones are hand-carved in curves so that the joins between them are perpendicular to the bridge's weight.
