The Eurasian blue tit (Cyanistes caeruleus) is a small passerine bird of the Paridae family. As a residential and non-migratory bird, the blue tit rarely moves far from where they once hatched.
The yellowness of their ventral parts seems to be correlated to the number of caterpillars eaten, which contain carotene pigments, as well as the time of breeding. 🐦 🐣
Yes kids, a tit is a bird. :ablobcool:

Sometimes, you just need a parent. Kiddo is at college (45 min away). Was out of an important Rx. Could Not Find their supply. Got a refill locally, ran it up tonight. Dorm room? Looked like a tornado hit. Kiddo has ADHD, too. Organization is a challenge. I suggested we pick up so they felt more settled. We did, even found the Rx they were out of! 😂 They were mortified. Nope. I was there to deliver hugs, a bit of calm, sew a button back on a coat with the emergency sewing kit I bought them, and we chatted a bit. When I left, dorm room was organized. Kiddo was calm. Lots of hugs given.

I told my husband I thought I was delivering a vital Rx when what I actually needed to deliver was some hands-on love. Glad to have been able to do so.

Sometimes, when life is crazy, we just need someone to help us pick up our laundry, hug us, and remind us that we are doing okay.

Something interesting I noticed on Mastodon vs Twitter after being on both for several years: posts get way more meaningful engagement here (per capita) than on Twitter.

I have an order of magnitude more followers on Twitter, but other than the occasional outlier, my posts here get similar numbers of likes, boosts and replies as they do over there.

It's an interesting phenomenon, and I wonder if it will continue if more content is actually being generated on this side.

New here. Seems like a lot of people moved over here from Twitter. I never used the site but the recent dumpster fire there and growing dissatisfaction with is leading me to explore alternatives. Here's a picture from a recent hike and one from the summer, if you like animals and/or vistas feel free to follow me. I work mostly with Python for the development of novel energy analytics methodologies, but don't often post about it...

Laid off Keystone Pipeline workers have no sympathy for laid off Twitter workers. They can just learn to lay pipelines.

some eight years ago, someone asked me, at a Q&A session at free software meeting, what I expected to be in ten years. I said I'd probably be a terrorist. not because my privacy- and freedom-defending practices would change, but because they'd likely be mislabeled as terrorism. looks like I was two years off :-(
that said, of all the "suspicious behaviors" in the picture, the only one that vaguely resembles mine is the last one: I use Tor for nearly all of my web browsing. I've used the same Neo Freerunner with the same simcard for some 13 years, and counting, but I don't really use it much. I mostly just ssh into it and run emacs with tunneled display to see SMSes on a larger screen.
@Becassine Diroptodon was a Marsupial Elephant, Procoptodon was a Marsupial Moose, Megalania was a 9 meter long reptile closely related to Monitors and Komodo Dragons that functioned as a grizzly or polar bear. We also had Komodo Dragons. The Marsupial Lion was, you guessed it, a Mountain Lion. The Tasamanian Tiger occupied the niche that belongs to the Coyote, and other canines in the Americas. The Quoll is a Marsupial Fox.

Oh yeah? Well you could also pay an AI to buy and read your book you fking asshole.

Levels of selected organic compounds in materials for candle production and human exposure to candle emissions

"Polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDD), dibenzofurans (PCDF) selected chlorinated pesticides, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) and some volatile organic compounds (VOC) were analysed in the exhaust fumes of candles made from different waxes and finishing materials. "

Took like 3 hours, but it will make a cool pillow. Now i only need to make the wife actually stitch it up 😂

the reason vampires are often so arrogant is they're incapable of self-reflection

Some of the excessive behavior self-destructive towards oneself and one's community you've seen over the past two years may be tied to the synthbio-tech inducing endogenous toxin production akin to the venoms of various predatory animals within the human target.

One snake venom found in particular, a rat when bitten will return to it's colony and see it's former family as enemies and begin attacking - weakening the community before the snake enters.

Another venom from the cone snail paralyzes it's victim before slowly drawing it in.

>"Their presence suggests a possible association between COVID-19 disease and the release in the body of (oligo-)peptides almost identical to toxic components of venoms from animals."

When it comes to disabling a population, someone *knew* exactly what they were doing.
