okay I know plenty of people have criticisms of Matrix (compared with XMPP or IRC or whatever) but this is an obvious place for Matrix in your chat apps: something that's a good-enough replacement for discord for these kinds of situations

normalize calling discord "fbicord"

Qoto.org says it has zero tolerance for hatred, but also "does not currently block any Fediverse servers".

I messaged Qoto admin to ask whether they would block servers that incited genocide. Admin replied Qoto would not block such servers.

I asked about the danger of radicalisation, and they said "(people) aren't going to read some random thing on the internet and turn bad. It just doesn't happen."

Have blocked qoto.org, would encourage others to do same.

@realcaseyrollins @serenebabe @ceoln @freemo There is no connection between the removal of a promotional link to qoto.org from joinmastodon.org and anyone named Snow. The link was removed in light of a revision of qoto.org's moderation policies following a mass-email campaign by Jeffrey Freeman that used a tool developed by Kiwi Farms to find which servers have blocked his, and Jeffrey has been told as much in writing.
