I really just see them as footsoldiers for neo-malthusian elites.
If you don't have the power to change things yourself, why would you want to ally yourself with people who openly say that there are "too many" people on the planet?
It's not about ecology at all, it's about seizing strategic resources to keep hierarchies in place, all in exchange for a moderately more comfortable position within it.
All authentic grassroots movements operate on largely the same formula:
- People work to change things within their capacity
- Connect with other like-minded individuals
- Support each other to accomplish larger goals
When the primary goals become about acquiring power for power's sake, or tearing down functional systems you know there are other games afoot.

Autoritäres Staatsgehabe ist widerlich.
Ich trau der LG nicht, ich seh die Ursachen des Umweltelends woanders, ich seh die Heilung ganz woanders. Doch ich kann Angst & Wut vieler junger Leute nachempfinden.
Das Ganze dient der Ablenkung, Aufregung und Spaltung, wie üblich.
Der Staat ist genau so gegen die vorgegangen, die die C-Maßnahmen kritisieren.
Und die Leute, die da ganz still waren oder gar Beifall geklatscht haben, aber jetzt jammern, die kann ich nicht ernst nehmen.

you could just buy land for ecological projects, it would probably be the most effective thing you can do. no big state forcing people using violence is required to do that, also no glue and no throwing of perfectly good soup at paintings! if only everyone in those activist groups would cancel their netflix and spotify pass and use the $20/month (i'm not even sure about the price of these services) for something actually useful, they would get much more done.
of course, that would require putting the money were the mouth is instead of cheap virtue signalling and forcing others to kneel in front of their twisted egos. it's easier to keep fighting against the liberty of your fellow humans.

wer sich jetzt über die durchsuchungen bei der selbsternannten letzten generation aufregt: hätte man bei den "querdenkern" und "coronaleugnern" das maul aufgemacht als es da solche repressalien gab - dann hättet ihr jetzt vermutlich sehr viel mehr unterstützer.
ihr wolltet den starken staat, jetzt habt ihr ihn. ihr wolltet freiheit gegen sicherheit eintauschen, jetzt habt ihr beides nicht mehr.
ich weiß ja nicht genau wies zusammenpasst ein buch über macht als wurzel allen übels zu schreiben - da würde ich zustimmen - aber dann "Mag nicht: Konservatismus, Anarchokapitalismus, Libertarismus und sonstige Destruktivismen." in seiner bio hier stehn hat.
keine macht für niemand, ausser natürlich für "die guten" die dann alle anderen zu ihrem glück zwingen.
