And here’s my #homelab setup from around 1997. At this time I did a lot of #hamradio Amprnet stuff. There is a stack of packet radio modems to the right of Tux penguin. These connected me to several IP subnets via VHF/UHF radio links and a couple of years later to a ‘wormhole’ via the local University. In the photo is a Sun Sparc station running #Solaris an IBM RS/6000 running #AIX and a PC with #Linux . As you can see it’s rather a lot more messy than my more recent homelab 🤓
Computers are like onions. Everything is layers built on layers, and every layer makes you cry. #sysadmin
@smallcircles Excellent post on this topic from @shanselman - written in 2012, lamenting that these were solved problems in 1999. One day we'll learn!
"Reddit represents one of the largest data sets of just human beings talking about interesting things," Huffman said. "We are not in the business of giving that away for free."
You and me, we're just data sets. Years of interaction with fellow human beings, building community, sharing insight and creativity…it’s all just data. Data to be mined and monetized.
Huffman's not mad Reddit was scraped for a chatbot. He's mad he wasn't paid for the privilege. It's his data, you see. His. Not yours.

don't only rely on my words, read what happy customers wrote about me: "10/10 would buy again", "top seller, great value", "wildly incorrect", "teil des problems", "without imagination", "Repeated provocation using copy/paste.", "if you take a dump in my mentions, I just might notice the smell", "log out and never login again", "Du redest wirr.", "My brother in Christ, this is such a ridiculously dumb statement that I will no longer entertain this silly conversation.", "Auf Derailing-Diskussionen habe ich keine Lust. Finger über dem Blocken-Knopf.", "Wie gesagt, du kannst der Diskussion inhaltlich nicht folgen."
