it is cheaper to register at my university, pay fees for a semester + longterm studying fee than buying this book (hardcover, ebook is slightly cheaper)
@p @grillchen the people who could change this are the academics (they are doing the peer reviewing anyway, and 'for free'), but they mostly don't care enough about it. It's sad and a big contrast to the self-image of academia as this kind of pure-thought paradise of free thinking people, when even the basic way of publishing papers and getting an actual academic position is corrupt to the core.

im übrigen scheibt die tagesschau kyiv schon wieder als kiew. sind also wohl auch von russischen bots unterwandert xD

There's a local wood worker on Craigslist that makes these beautiful outdoor tables. They're unfinished, so I've got to figure out what stain and sealant I want to use. I was surprised I was able to unload it all by myself. It's crazy heavy. But it'll be good to have a large picnic table for my fall potluck/bbq.
@Moon no normie would even imagine this was AI art, we've come so far in such a short time

Any bots that post regular-ish pics of turtles? Need the occasional timeline cleanse.

The downsides of being frugal.

The #OpenStreetMap Foundation spends, even with a slightly more ambitious budget this year than previously, less than %1 of what WMF/Wikipedia does, but is struggling to make ends meet.

There is no threat a la the infamous Wikipedia ads that the project will shut down, but without the funds activities will have to be cut back significantly.
