I just wanted to let you know that whatever fedi drama occurred the past few weeks, it occurred via this giant bundle of copper and fiber optic cables.

Look how small and helpless you all are, snaked across my carpet.

Intentionally making Lunar Landing conspiracy threads, not because I have a dog in that fight - but to know who to block.

ddevault should live up to his ideals and transfer ownership of sourcehut to his users, in real communist spirit.

alternatively shut up about how others shoud be coerced into behaving according to the twisted communist views he holds.

@graf and the weird thing is that drew says he doesnt care about the wider "open source" community
and says he dislikes github and what it stands for

...then goes and spends hours on end literally being a bitch and ruining peoples lives jsut because they dont have a 1kb file in their repo

he is a man of double standards and cares literally only about having his retarded opinions forced on everyone else

much less that he doesnt even have enough self awareness to realize how much of a hypocrite he is
> if 10 applications work on all the popular compositors but don't work in one with a novel approach to window management, then that compositor is considered broken, not the applications

novel? such as, I dunno, wayland compositors breaking multi-window X11 apps? so he admits that wayland can be considered broken from the end user perspective then

@bonifartius they're actually pretty hardy once they get past first month of growth and provided the temperature doesn't drop below 10-ish C.
I got that many because I want to do some fancy grafting next year. Something like on those pics

People are wrong about Daylight Savings time.
Every time you'll get dozens of articles saying
Is it time to get rid of daylight savings? as if it's a bad thing.
The truth is we're
not doing it enough.

The real reason everyone is confused is because we took a half step. The world is a sphere, not a flat plane. Because we're missing an entire dimension of detail, we're only doing
half the daylight savings required.

What do I mean by this?
You see, we currently save daylight by longitude, but if we want a
truly accurate amount of daylight savings we will also require time dilation by latitude. So the further you get from the equator the more we have to slow the clocks down to ensure everyone actually receives their full day in the sun. This is because each day and night is longer the closer you get to the north or south pole.

This is the essential factor missing from a physically accurate daylight savings model.

Venus of Hohle Fels (Venus of Schelklingen), an Upper Paleolithic Venus figurine made of mammoth ivory that was unearthed in 2008 in Hohle Fels, a cave near Schelklingen, Germany.

It is dated to between 40,000 and 35,000 years ago, belonging to the early Aurignacian, at the very beginning of the Upper Paleolithic, which is associated with the earliest presence of Cro-Magnon in Europe.
