When you think about it, a lot of the male spaces that feminists complain about and call misogynistic and toxic tend to be spaces where men with autism gather, like hobbies they can be intense about... so, in a way they are punching down at those with autism or disabilities and making the space unfriendly for those people. You could say they are ableist. It's hard enough for those men to find a place in society and now the space they've created for themselves has been popularised by the mainstream and those people are trying to create rules it is impossible for them to follow and thus kick them out.
but! i can have a laptop now which i can read while sitting in the sun. not everything is shit.
i kind of miss the sense of wonder and "cozyness" of the net from my youth.
playing with terragen, "aimbot" by binding mouse1 to "centerlook; +attack", downloading 128kbps mp3s per track. quakenet, finally having enough people to get Q in the channel.
