The EU finally plans to implement its Radio Equipment Directive (RED) of 2014. ... with article 3(3)i making it almost impossible to run custom software on devices like routers or smartphones.

This will have a huge impact on the open source community and projects like OpenWRT.

"Each radio system would have to have access to the Internet to get the conformity confirmation from a server"

The concept goes so far as "noncompliant equipment will be remotely decommission"

Bad program idea: you can select text anywhere and "copy" it. Then, you can put your cursor somewhere else and "paste" it. The secret sauce is that, before pasting, you spend a few seconds watching an AI spinner that magically washes away the original copyright and protects you from plagiarism.

i wonder who's responsible for the amazingly bad spin that consumers aren't responsible for environmental problems because there's "the industry" who's even worse. of course it is, that's no reason for ignoring your own responsibility.

i've encountered this idea two times over 24h now. tinfoil theory would be it's a new psyop.

change your lifestyle or nothing will change. you can't buy that.

This is the most ridiculous C64 demo ever and it was just released. You need to watch this. youtu.be/zprSxCMlECA

It's always a good time to remind that trading off your #Privacy or #Freedom for #Security is the fastest way to never getting them back.
