i swear, i'll go nuts if i read "safe and effective" one more time. it's really a meme at this point.

Back on Slackware, it was first distro I ever installed around 1997 and my first encounter with Linux. Can't believe it took me so long to come back to this cosy place

What I really need now is a good old fashioned crackpot conspiracy theory involving an ostrich, grilled cheese and the catholic church of Venezuela

@LouisConde imagine requiring the vaxx but not doing a drug test

tbqh people are beginning to scare the shit out of me.

screaming about how fake news and misinformation campaigns are killing people, but acting like a fucking mob out to lynch anyone who said "something wrong" (for todays definition of wrong) or who doesn't adhere to what is deemed "right" and therefore is not human anymore. usually this is combined with rainbow-flags and some anti-fascism talk. feels like a mixture of lovecraft and kafka.

nothing worse than a mob of normies who think they are in power, always has been this way.

Got this ridiculous notice from a web page earlier today.

It's like something from Kafka's Der Prozess. If Josef K. had a computer, I bet it would have shown him messages like this. 🙂

@internetoftrash it's funny how it's called sustainable when the least sustainable thing would be to get your kids to aspire to be a fadster

Vaccines should be a tool to reopen doors. Digital vaccine passports, as we've seen them deployed so far, are far more likely to slam them shut. eff.org/deeplinks/2021/08/vacc

tinfoil power

context: we have federal votes next weekend here in germany.

just read twitter (yes, i should know better ;) with someone joking about that if you lick the envelopes for your postal vote the government has your DNA.

with all the shit governments pull all the fucking time.. $agency might just collect the strips for later use, doesn't need much storage. got a district with much lefties? righties? anyone you dislike?

i think voting by mail should be the rare exemption, not standard procedure. this should be a no-brainer, never trust anyone _too much_ if it comes to votes. it's a valuable tool for people who are not able to physically go to the vote.

i really sometimes wish that the people who still make jokes about mass surveillance get exactly the world they joke about :|

@freemo
i know wikipedia isn't a perfect source, but it's of a different opinion en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viral_ (no quote, i'm on mobile and something acts up..)
