Gen-X has something to say about the Web and marxism.

1. All politics imply violence. That's what it's about: to what end and who gets to apply it, to whom, and in what form and measure. Even the most progressive ideologies imply violence somewhere down the line. The more inderect it is, the further down the line it is, and behind more layers of red tape and buerocratic gridlocks it is, the more "humane" the political system *appears*. But it will always be there, lest everything collapses.
2. You can't escape politics. It is the game you can't leave, even if you died. You live and breathe it. Like air fills everything there is empty space, politics is where societh or ita influence is. You can only turn a blind eye to it. Apolitical is an escapist fantasy. And there's nothing wrong about a little escapism every now and then, in fact, it's healthy. As long as you know that the reality will always catch up with you. And it will.

Die ... engagierte Überzeugungsarbeit für großartige Weltverbesserungs- oder Rettungspläne (Impfen die Gesellschaft zurück in die Freiheit) bis hin zu einschüchternden Warnungen vor irdischen (Virusvarianten) oder kosmischen Katastrophen oder ewiger Verdammnis. Versprochen werden Rundumlösungen (durch die Impfprogramme) im Sinne eines rettenden Rezepts. Es wird die (Impfung als) Lösung für alle Fragen und persönlichen Probleme angeboten.
Es geht darum, ein unglaubliches Ziel zu erreichen (Durchimpfung der ganzen Welt) oder ein schreckliches Menschheitsdrama (Corona-Pandemie wegen Impfskeptiker) zu überleben. Dem Einzelnen wird versprochen, dass er als (geimpftes) Mitglied dieser (Impf)-Sekte den Weltuntergang heil überstehen werde. Es werden Sehnsüchte angesprochen und andererseits Ängste mobilisiert, auf die dann mit passenden Versprechungen reagiert wird. Idealistisch klingende, utopische und wunderartige Lösungen werden aufgezeigt. Die religiöse Gemeinschaft behauptet, dass sie als einzige die totale Errettung bzw. Erlösung für eine absehbare Zukunft noch in diesem Leben oder nach dem Tod bieten kann.

it would cause far less trouble if you let kids on to the fact that yes, the chad mostly wins, and while this may not be fair, that’s what generally happens.

you can take up battle against the chad. maybe you’ll win, but it’s unlikely.

i think this would cause less bitterness. you didn’t light up the spirits of people who didn’t have a realistic chance of winning.

as for me?

i’m here to fight. not against chads in particular. just to fight to stay afloat, really.

true chads aren’t destructive. true chads try to help out. a chad isn’t the person at the gym that makes fun of you for being fat. a true chad is the guy who sees that a new guy is in need of help and support.

and i’m not a gym chad.

but i’m a brain chad. shoot me for saying it, but my general approach is to guide toward less self-harm. to support and guide. anything else isn’t constructive.

Don't get me wrong, computers can absolutely help us regain our environmental efficiency. They just *aren't*.

Not as long as we're:
* constantly syncing everything to the cloud,
* expecting same-hour delivery,
* funding our clickbait via surveillance advertising,
* buying a new phone every year,
* using AIs because they're cool rather than useful,
* running bloated software & webpages,
* buying into "big data"
* etc

Computing is environmentally cheap, but it rapidly adds up!
