ok, hit me up with alternatives to DNS.

i very much like the technical beauty of DNS being a distributed database but it's "an elegant system for a more civilized age". times are dire and require appropriate solutions.

this world, it's too much for me.

@rootbsd

Children should be homeschooled tbh, by their mothers mostly with the help of the father (but he's at work all day so it really should fall on the mother.)

Well people wanted women in the work place and as a result you are now going to have children that are developmentally stunted, because people think that the state can raise their children at the same quality as their mothers.

You individually don't make as much as you should because the labor pool is twice of what it should be. You then can't afford living and now your partner needs to pick up a job. Who watches the kids then? No one, the state watches them, in their institutions that were designed to turn children into factory workers.

the feel of the 00s internet is characterized by:
- lack of curation/tailored content
- freedom of users to be creative
- extremely little babying and few rules
- everything clunky and held together with scotch tape aka "charm"
- split across archipelago of services, difficult to centralize
>every electric car i buy is saving the environment
lol no every car you *don't* buy is saving the environment
@lupyuen This has major implications in law. Courts and lawmakers have already struggled and largely failed to address the unique problems and complexity involved in authentication of digital evidence.

The TLDR on that is that anyone who is accused of a crime or violation based on digital evidence should challenge its authenticity and contend that it is falsified.

We've known since Snowden's leaks that spies and cops are willing and able to plant and manufacture evidence.

Look at what was attempted with Sharyl Attkisson. Look at Russiagate and the fake claims made as to the Skripals by "private sector" spook-laundering outfits like Crowdstrike and Bellingcat.
