Inspired by @paulrpotts, I ordered rice directly from Lundberg. First up is the black pearl. It cooked up perfectly on the white rice setting in the zojirushi. Texture is dense and chewy, it doesn't puff up nearly as much as brown or white rice.
Flavor is nutty, tasting strongly of cashews. 1 cup, cooked with target generic ramen broth and finished with 2 tablespoons of butter, served with runny eggs,seasoned with Deep brand dry garlic chutney. Holy cow is this good.
