I'm looking for the right word for a software concept. If class A holds a reference to class B, is B a "target" of A, or a "referent" (spelling?) of A, or what?

@jim_easterbrook I don't think B is a referrent of A if A encompasses other things? If A refers to B as C then B is a referent of C though. But I could be missing a nuance very easily.
@jim_easterbrook I think it's more likely the problem lies at this end. After the week I've had there's a strong possibility that's gibberish ;)
