@JenBFootscray if I reach a point where enough of the people I follow and information sources I use on there are either here or gone then I will quit it. While it's still useful I'll use both.
@obi what a great story. I'm rather jealous that you will get.to own your favourite picture. I hope it's a long way off yet though
@bykimbo When I was a kid, I can still remember seeing this painting at my Papa's (mother's father) house. Then, after his passing, at my mother's house. Now it's at my mother's newer house. I have always been obsessed with it and after she passes she's made it clear it will go to me. It's the only piece of Art that I have wanted to "own". My Papa got it from his aunt, she bought it on a trip to France. I once tried to find the artist, but with conflicting results. It's signed Pauiin '42. Can't find a good photo of it, but my wife had one with it in the background.
@trinka gorgeous!
@Heathercawte good choice. So evocative 😍
If you could have a piece of art by any one artist, to keep in your home (so not for the monetary value), who would you chose?
For me I'd take Joan Miro every time.

It's actually pretty amazing that a open source product developed by a tiny non-profit, running on a network of servers self-funded by volunteer administrator and moderators has managed to absorb some portion of one of the world's largest for-profit social networks.
It's a miracle the whole thing didn't collapse or catch fire.
Great job everyone.

Going in to work for a few hours tomorrow to do some sorting and organising. Apparently my subconscious felt bad about going in on my day off for such an activity since there's lots needed at home. So spent the afternoon moving furniture about. This is a weird variation of "bringing your work home" I guess. #BrainsAreWeird
@Wifiwits bwahahahah
@Hinterlands a friend has a collection of Cornish art prints that includes a favourite version of the nearly home trees. The caption is Thank F--K for that with the trees filling the gap 😆 https://www.jettystreetpress.co.uk/product/thank-frank-for-that
The "Nearly Home" trees.
Set on a hilltop overlooking the main road between Cornwall and Devon these trees have acted as a marker for generations of travellers that their journey is almost done.
This was taken one winter evening when the sun was almost done with its daily journey and the light was just perfect.

@Wifiwits I actually paid for it when it first came to streaming services. I've never truly forgiven myself for that massive error in judgement.
Sweary and opinionated. It's best not to take it personally. Also hilarious but that might be less obvious.
