@dansup I totally didn't know that partial federation was already active! I knew you could look up an account from here but last time I had checked when you try to follow one they just have you the permanent hourglass of doom. So pixelfed.social posts have been boostable since July!?

First the admin dashboard delayed AP in July, then in August is was UI updates. In September I focused on improved blocking/mutes and October was all about more safety/privacy improvements. You can only push federation support once, and I want to make sure it's done right.

@dansup wow I could have been boosting all the posts for months! I didn't know. So when the other direction of federation is turned on all the follower counts will be updated with the remote followers numbers on PF?

@wakest No, and that is one regret I have for turning it on early.

Since pixelfed inbox isn't listening, it has no idea who is remote following who. Users who want to follow pixelfed users will need to cancel the original follow request and re-follow them.

@dansup ahh interesting, and what about posts that have already been shared and have threads below them? will those also be unable to be seen from the pixelfed side even though they already exist in the fedi?
