Really great to see a public school like U Penn holding its own so well in these rankings; kudos to them
@kjhealy Tragically, not even Penn State is truly a public university anymore (“state-affiliated”). UPenn is fully private though! I think the highest ranked fully public uni in Pennsylvania might be Indiana University of Pennsylvania?

@joepierce FWIW the running gag is that U Penn grads are paranoid about being mistaken for either Penn State specifically or a public school in general, so they will say things like “at U Penn AND OTHER IVIES” etc
@kjhealy A long-ago acquaintance couldn’t bring themselves to attend Brown for fear being forever tagged as a graduate of “the weird Ivy!” Which is to say I have had a long time to be confused by the deep, cold shadow apparently thrown by that college in Boston.
