English is so strange. Take the word "vegetable". The -able suffix means something that can be "vegeted", right? But what does it mean to veget something?

@grishka
from Latin vegetābilis (“able to live and grow”), derived from vegetāre (“to enliven”)

I guessed this, then checked in Wiktionary. The term "vegetative" is pretty common in biology.
