I had a lovely #dwarffortress fort with a waterfall and a battleaxe-obsessed countess. Never enough battle axes for her - she always wants MOAR. 200 dwarves in a well functioning society, completely decimated by one wereanteater girl :( not the wereanteater herself but her curse caused 2 to turn the next full moon, then 5 the next, then 10, then 50.... like omfg these wereanteaters have zero chill and are extremely efficient at converting others to their kind.

Litast Kosothbekar, the GOAT. Third forgotten beast kill. Took him down in 4 hits. Combat log doesn't even need a scroll bar.
He is wise though. "I have a part in this. There is no need to feel vengeful."
I am already in the middle of building him a Royal bedroom, mausoleum, office, dining room. And a separate tomb for his spouse. But I guess I'll have to put some more cool shit in there. He likes bauxite.

160 years, on this day, President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on Jan. 1, 1863. The proclamation declared "that all persons held as slaves" within the rebellious states "are, & henceforward shall be free.
Slavery was officially abolished by the ratification of the 13th Amendment in 1865. However the Jim Crow laws enforced racial segregation in the Southern states (ca.1877 until 1968)
