Since I keep seeing developers use ‘pretty’ IP addresses like ’1.2.3.4’ in example configurations; a reminder that you MUST NOT use publicly routable addresses that you do not control in your code.

Instead, use one of the available 'TEST-NET' IPv4 or IPv6 ranges documented in RFC 6890;

192.0.2.0/24
198.51.100.0/24
203.0.113.0/24

❌ 1.2.3.4
✅ 192.0.2.4

and for IPv6;

✅ 2001:db8::/32

Pass it on to all of your fellow developers, documentation writers, and so forth.

Timothy is a human-sized wood louse in my story. I'm having some trouble finding the right name for his --conveyance. It's not exactly a stroller, nor is it a wheelchair.

Timothy can walk without assistance, he's just very slow. So, he made a little cart where he can sit on a pile of pillows under a gay little red and white striped awning and have his friends who are in such a pointless hurry push him about.

He could have motorized it, the ants have the tech, but he deliberately opt not to.

Prior to Nixon, the US had 1/5th the prison population of the USSR post-Stalin, after Reagan we had double the population as the Soviet union even though its population hadn't gone down by much because we had much longer sentences. Since then we have doubled our prison population. China now has 1/3rd the prison population we do. If the Soviet union and China are rightfully called a police state what the hell does that make the US?
