Almost missed my flight out of London the other day to take this photo of a Heathrow airport gate running low on memory.

Bonus: unlocked Windows workstation.

Here's a great piece by
@kendrawrites on bias in #COVID reporting.

"Outlets have amplified voices that helped create a narrative that not only pathologizes those who remain cautious about the disease, but also fail to adequately convey the risks associated with Covid such that many people are unwittingly taking on potentially lifelong risks.

In the process, we’ve failed at our field’s core tenets — to hold power to account and to follow the evidence. "

I finally got enough confidence to post a video of me playing #bass. January of this year, at age 50, I decided to start learning. I'm not much to watch, but this is halfway decent. Obviously the bass is pretty loud in the mix, because I'm sharing it the way I hear it. I have a long way to go.

I want to keep it ad-free and everyone can upload to 512M video's and 1GB for 'pro' (A little paid tier to pay for it all)

No account needed to browse some vid's and suggestions are welcome :cat_hug_triangle:

if we’ve brought back global pandemics, titanic disasters, railroad strikes, a King of England and Russian coups, we should also get to bring back the parts of the 20th century where they had cocaine in the soda and a minimum wage earner could buy a family home

When writing software, enable people to change their usernames.

You don’t know who might make their username based on their real name, then realize they need to change their real name, and are now stuck with a username based on their dead name.

Mathematician, computer scientist, and WWII code breaker Alan Turing, who established the theoretical foundation for just about every modern computing device, was born #OTD in 1912. His work helped make it possible for you to read this.

The British government prosecuted him for being gay, a monstrous act that eventually led to Turing’s death by suicide. Then they waited 50 years before issuing a pardon.
