Y'all remember that viral post going around about how NO ONE wants your handknitted/crocheted things?

I just got a sweet note from a friend who said she was curled up under one of my afghans. Was it a GOOD afghan? No.

But it's just a reminder that the best friends appreciate the gestures of your love.

The people who don't? Are probably telling you something about themselves.

Nearing the end. Fall color was incredible this morning walking along Zürichsee - this tree has already lost its leaves though, and was reflected in a puddle.

I discovered a cool thing about Idol Manager (w/ the uncensor patch to restore sex scenes), there's sex scenes for every combination of gender of player & rival, including male/male! I didn't know if they'd have it b/c while the game has lots of lesbianism in it (idols date each other, if you're a woman you can date female chars), I didn't know if they'd be ok with gay men cuz, sometimes media is ok with girl/girl but not guy/guy. But it's there! That's cool. #videogames #lgbt

@aristeon It's funny: to me there are two Twitters right now. There's MacroTwitter where Elon Musk is visibly doing things to kill the platform. And then there's microTwitter, the Twitter that I use every day to get information about my sports teams and it seems like nothing has changed and in a lot of cases posters are unaware of anything going on. It's weird.

So, I'd like to thank all the sighted people here on mastidon who take the time to describe pictures to us blindies. Most people on other social media sites wouldn't do that. I appreciate it so much #ThankYouForHavingPatience #ThisIsSoAwesome

I am a professor of linguistics at the University of Washington, where I run our Master of Science in Computational Linguistics. I work on computational approaches to syntax and the syntax-semantics interface, the role of #linguistics in #NLP, and on the societal impacts of language technology. On social media, I spend a lot of time debunking #AIhype, for which I find linguistics very useful!

Seems like I should maybe post & pin: I don't suffer mansplaining. If you do it, I will call it out. Think twice about whether you are telling me something I could reasonably be expected to already know.

Rules for a reasonable future: Acceptance

Each person should be accepted as an equal human being regardless of :

Disability, Gender, Sexual Orientation, Religion, Race/Nationality/Ethnicity, Economic/Social Class.

Yes and one hopes there would be some self-reflection from political media about who anoints inevitability: political media.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but the reason “it” isn’t working is because you’re using the #Mastodon official app.
