3. Big themes are healthy-vs.-toxic masculinity (as embodied by transmasc protagonist Jules vs. his former abuser, Hunter), PTSD, nihilism, redemption, and alchemy as a metaphor for self-realization (as well as a kickass magic fighting style a la FMA 🙏💥 💨 ).

4. Every major character is queer af. (Even the ones you don't expect!)

I've been doing policy type of work for awhile and it's become apparent that #scicom should be a big part of that, so I'm here for those conversations too. Also keen on #opendata for #airquality applications and innovative monitoring methods such as #lowcostsensors and currently dabbling in using #earthengine for #airquality research. That was super long, hope you're still reading! Anyway, I'm really sad about twitter (which I'll still be on until it dies) but hoping to find a new global community on here. Also keen on second hand book shopping, the "idea" of hiking (haven't gotten around to actual hiking yet) and #slowfashion. Okay I'll stop now :) Still figuring this out!

Reflection after a first day in the #Fediverse (and pulling back from the bird): It is fascinating to start to see the extent that #Twitter 's algorithm exploits my brain to crave meaningless urgency over the things I genuinely find interesting and important. And, of course, they do it to sell ads. Missing both the mindlessness and the monetization here is oddly strange at first, but I *really* look forward to that new normal. Hope it lasts.

Hello!
I'm an artist, and work with people living with #dementia and with academic philosophers to learn about memory.

I make art using #cyanotype and other processes to express philosophical understanding and lived experiences of memory.

How does memory influence our sense of self, our personal, social and cultural identities? And vice versa.

Current work is looking at how we use 'evocative objects' to support and extend memory.

Questions and answers most welcome!

Imagine a piece of tissue paper.

Coat it with cyanotype chemicals.

Fold it into an origami crane.

Let it be a crane for a while, in any place with a bit of light. Ignore it, play with it, whatever.

After a while, unfold it. Develop.

You'll get an image.

The image is the memory of it's experience as an origami crane.

Repeat. Every crane's experience - and hence every image - will be unique.
