The passing of Irene Cara at 63 reminds me that we lose Black and Latine folks too soon in the US. Cara was from the Bronx. FAME taught me about New York culture as a kid growing up in California (along with Sesame Street), and it was one of the few shows that featured non-white people like me.

Peace upon Cara’s soul. Remember her name.

the downfall of #Twitter is going to be hard on a lot of people who create/perform/post for a living.

$44B is actually a small price to pay to destroy the platform used to organize labor unions at Starbucks, Amazon, and other companies with a combined market cap over a TRILLION dollars. The timing is definitely not an accident.

I have to say, I am still boost shy here at #Mastodon - Simply because of negative experiences from the other "place". I always feel like I may annoy or over-boost - But then I remember, this is how it works here. This is how we support others and find those who interest us. Strange, shifting to a more enjoyable social media platform.

I hate it when a murder interrupts my vacation at a posh seaside resort in the 1920s and the bright, helpful young man I've taken into my confidence as I search for the culprit turns out to be the very killer I'm searching for.
