流外官本为乡品六品以下者应就之职，勋位建立后，要就任被困在士庶线左下角的勋位职务时就不再需要乡品。士族从正门进入官场为品官，庶民从便门进入就任勋位。并且就像贵族世袭一样，勋位也开始出现固化为特定家世的倾向。
