I have a love/hate relationship with this 2014 photo. I have't shared it much because I feel like I "stole" it.

During a winter snowfall, I was walking through Millennium Park when this too-good-to-be-true photo-op appeared. I took a few frames, but as I looked around, I didn't notice a conspicuous photographer who taking this person's photograph or someone I was unintentionally blocking.

I often walk along the Nashua River and one day I saw this fallen tree limb and had to capture it. It looked to me like a hand dipping its fingers into the water.

An Auschwitz survivor Mordechai Papirblatt passed away on 27 December at the age of 99.

Mordechai was born in Radom in April 1923. Later he lived in Warsaw.

In Auschwitz from 13 July 1942
Camp no. 46794
He escaped during the death marches.

After the war he emigrated to Israel.

I pet Mattis. He is 9 months old. His favorite things are playing fetch and chewing on bones. His caregiver says the best thing about Mattis is that he always wants to do whatever his caregiver does. He’s happy to go have an adventure or just lie on the couch being lazy.

Looking forward to seeing the #SnowyOwls this winter. In this older image she was giving me the watchful look. The Snowy Owl is a sit and wait hunter. Silent and patient it surveys the winter fields as it hunts during the day, unlike other Owls.

Deep within the grapefruit tree out in the front yard, something strange and twisted happened to this particular fruit. Noticed it near Halloween 2022.

Phillip Flippo got this shot last night of the "Nomad," a boat built in 1950 by Joe Reddington, Sr. under gorgeous #NorthernLights in Anchorage. The boat has been refurbished by Reddington's family.

Coca wine was an alcoholic beverage in the 19th century that featured both wine and cocaine. One popular brand, Vin Mariani, was enjoyed by Jules Verne, Alexander Dumas, and Arthur Conan Doyle. Thomas Edison claimed it helped him stay awake longer. I can't imagine why!
