A number of people seem to be having stressful days after unrestful nights, so I thought I’d share this photo of Vice Admiral Finnegan Nimoy Reginald Kirkpatrick, Earl of Barkington, at the start of his naval career. May you find sustenance in this early capturing of he who started from such humble, floppy-eared log-walking-by-the-shore beginning, but would later become a decorated officer and hero of the sea, respected and beloved by all who know him.
I just finished this digital watercolor painting. It is an actual teddy bear that I have up for sale on my eBay site. It is such a cutie that I almost hate to sell it. So I thought why not make art with it that I can keep even after the real toy sells. It also worked well for today's faa clothing theme challenge image!
Prints are available here and thanks for supporting an #indieartist 👇

Another shot of Bridget that shows her Mastodon logo-type markings. The markings on her other side are different and don’t look like an ‘m’. #cat #catstodon #mastodoncat #catsofmastodon
I was asked to publish one of my retro-styled, autumn forest pieces that was shown really small in my #artvsartist2022 post in a larger size, so here it is. You're welcome, Anne!
Happy #BlackFriday y'all! To celebrate #BlackJoy on #BlackMastodon, I'd like to show a #watercolour painting I did of the great James Baldwin.
Pretty excited to light this #wearable project up for the first time - a #RaspberryPiPico (well, an RP2040 at least), round 240x240 LCD, and a tiny li-po in a 3d printed case. Running a modified version of #pimoroni picographics with one of their demo scripts atm.
I have plans for some fun animations in the future, as well as a slightly more sturdy chain.
This was by far the most complicated piece of #3dmodelling I've done and I'm really chuffed it could be made to fit in a chassis of this size
Now that the holiday shopping season is over, 'tis the season for customer feedback surveys. A comic from a few months ago:
So here's a random thing that I learnt yesterday. Compasses are region-specific and the needle will "stick" if a normal compass is used in the wrong region! Australia and New Zealand are in magnetic zone 5. If you want a #compass that works anywhere in the world, it needs to have a "global needle", which is built a bit differently to account for the problem of the magnet aiming directly through the earth to magnetic north and dragging the needle down with it.
