A recipe book from 1963, with one of the most revolting (and hilarious) recipes I've ever read: chicken baked with almonds, white sauce, cheese and peaches. #recipe #retro #food

High school students forced to wear masks, frightened by the threat of COVID, and restricted from having free play time with their friends for three years.
I went to see their exhibition.

This exhibition was the culmination of their high school life. It was filled with tremendous power.
Some of them screamed in their works, others constructed imaginary and joyful high school life in their works.
Sculptures, oil paintings, drawings. My daughter also completed her own unique work that defied categorization.

Cat adoption update: I am able to see at most 10% of the body of either cat when I enter their room, the rest shrouded in fine blankies and boxes

Naturally however, I avert my eyes from their noble forms, limiting myself to placing their plates before them and exiting backwards while bowing. It is understood that I need not return for several hours

The Creamery Bridge across the Whetstone Brook in . Built in 1879, a walkway alongside was added later. It has the "Town lattice" design, named after engineer Ithiel Town.

It is now paralleled by a modern bridge, hence the snow mountain blocking the road side.

It's a popular photo op for visitors, being right by the interstate and the beloved Vermont Country Deli.

Pioneering geologist & oceanographer Marie Tharp changed our understanding of the ocean.

When Tharp sought a geology job at Columbia University in 1948, women couldn’t go on research ships. Instead, she was hired to assist male grad students.

Back then, many scientists still assumed the bottom of the ocean was featureless. Tharp figured out how to use data to create sketches of the ocean floor. Her hand-drawn maps helped develop plate tectonic theory. theconversation.com/marie-thar #science #history

Hello!! As I mentioned before, it's a stressful period for me so, from time to time, I need to disappear. But at least, I've been painting! ❤️ Here are my most recent oil paintings (mixed with digital in David Bowie's case)
I hope you'll like them! Music and theatre are again the main themes behind them

In #JapaneseFolklore iwana bozu are char (a type of river fish) who grow to an enormous size and transform into #yokai. They're able to shapeshift into human form, dress in Buddhist priest's robes, walk and talk. Mostly they approach people who are fishing in rivers to ask them to stop, and to avoid needless killing and to take only what they need. Most people think they're priests and don't consider the possibility of them being yokai until after they've left.

Svalbard, Norway is where this amazingly beautiful photo was taken by photographer Marsel van Oosten WOW!! 💗

Took a long, long walk, during which something in my hip went "twang!!" in a painful way. Now I am pinned to the couch under my heated blanket and the Mollycat.#Caturday #CalicoCat #CatsOfMastodon

Last week, while driving home for dinner, a kitten ran into the road in front of us. Luckily we were stopped at a light and were able to quickly grab him before he got run over.

Poor thing was freezing and missing half a front paw. We brought him in to Humane Rescue Alliance, where he recovered. Unfortunately they had to remove the leg, but we were able to take him home yesterday.

Meet Franklin (for the street he ran into) #CatsOfMastodon #Caturday
