Day 24 of #ArtAdventCalendar - Merry Christmas to all who celebrate! I hope that you are warm and safe and surrounded by love. This painting is what graced my Christmas cards this year. Watercolor and ink.

Day 24 with the #ArtAdventCalendar , we've made it to the end. I was of 2 minds when thinking about which photo to share - break the entire theme and go wildcard or stick with the theme and finish what I started. In the end I am sticking to the theme.

#caturday - This photo was taken 12 years ago. We miss this guy. He's the reason we had to give up real or artificial Christmas trees, since he'd eat the needles and get sick. So I built a wooden Christmas tree which he left alone, and has the bonus of being eco-friendly.

A family in the Matanuska Valley in #Alaska built an igloo! They used food dye to make the bricks of ice (yes, they froze bread pans of ice & used snow as "mortar.) in different colors. Super fantastic job! Photos by a very proud mom! 💗

There’s something special about #autumn for a #photographer. The excitement builds all year knowing that for 1 or 2 weekends a year, if the weather conditions hold out, you will get to capture #nature showing off her skills. If you’re lucky enough to be traveling to a #NationalPark at this time of year, it’s overwhelmingly exhilarating.

This is Ox Bow Bend at Grand Teton National Park and I was fortunate enough to be standing there at the right time.

The holidays can be a really tough time. The advice i often heard was, "Volunteer at a soup kitchen. Help others. Get out of your head." It's perfectly fine advice, but unhelpful if the mere thought of interacting with people is overwhelming. Anyway, here's a thing I did one year that did help:

I bought a Cookie Monster costume, went to the airport, and waited at arrivals with a sign that said "COOKIE"

Didn't have to talk to anyone and boy did I get to watch people's faces light up.
