I've been historically rubbish at deleting the shots I'm never going to use - recently I've been making an effort to start doing that and along the way occasionally process some older stuff from RAW I never got around to the first time around.

Here's a shot of Loki when he randomly adopted a loaf pose in the hall. I was playing with a manual lens - a Mitakon 28mm f/2.8 - mounted on my D7000.

I am very dedicated to my workout routine, and that routine consists entirely of me picking up and holding cats.

I find it extremely comforting thatthese masks are really for super extra safety - since we have been using them in the 2000s no one has been in an emergency where they were necessary (there was one false alarm but better safe than sorry)

And good news! This morning I passed my exam and successfully and correctly put on my mask in well under 40 seconds. In the coming years I am allowed to work underground again (including tours!) See pic for proof. Safety is not flattering 🤪

I think website's finished enough now to start mentioning the url, so...

lisasaarloos.art
*quietly whispers* "tadaaa...."

It's just a place to be able to point to separate from social media, but there are more than a few new and better pictures, and I'm happy it's now both Dutch and English. So enjoy if you want to look around :artpeek:.

(I'm also pretty chuffed that it's .art now, instead of .nl).

The story of Fish:

I’m allergic to cats. Always have been. Nose runs, eyes run, can’t breath. Then I met Mouse at a spice shop in Jaipur. Jumped on my lap, curled up, insisted on being petted. My nose was filled with turmeric and roses, and little Mouse, at most five pounds, didn’t set me off. And I thought, “Maybe…”

A month later, my daughter, jokingly asked if we could get a cat and showed me a picture of three little kittens a friend was trying to find homes for. She was unprepared when I said “Sure!”—she’d only asked knowing it was impossible. But, she was leaving for college in the fall and her younger sister would be better for having a companion. And the house wouldn’t feel so empty.

The 7 year old girl who kept her hand on her little brother's head to protect him while they were under the rubble for 17 hours has made it safely. I see no one sharing. If she were dead, everyone would share! Share positivity...

It's nearly #ValentinesDay! The so-called “Heart Book" (c.1550) is a collection of 83 Danish love ballads. It is the oldest known Danish manuscript of its kind, and an early example of the heart being used to signify romantic love.

Two projects for the last day of the first week (color) of Fiberuary.

The first is my second stranded colorwork project--a pair of TARDIS socks (pattern by Keladry B on Ravelry).

The second is a gift I made for a friend--a Gideon the Ninth inspired hat (pattern by Sarah Sinclair on Ravelry).

Better late than never: here is my 2022 retrospect combined with some shots from our norway roadtrip!

One of the more unusual wardrobe selections I've seen of "The Mountain". Gives new meaning to the term "cap cloud"!

Put tram tracks on a carpet of grass or sedum. 2 kms of track creates 1.5 football fields' worth of green space, reducing air pollution and urban heat island effect. My favorite meme: #tramsongrass

All around #Ann Arbor, #Michigan, you will find a variety of #fairy homes and villages, often around thick trunks. I love the whimsy and magic of my neighbors.

Born in 1852, Mary Titcomb had a strong desire for an education & career.

Mary became a librarian & making #books accessible to everyone was a priority. She came up with a children’s room & set up “book stations” in shops & post offices in town.

But Mary noticed people from rural areas weren’t visiting the #library. So, she secured funding to build & begin the nation’s first bookmobile. 📚

I went out in the backyard to watch and photograph the full moon rising on February 5, 2023. I used various settings to get different light and color...this was one of my favorites. A tad bit spooky but beautiful at the same time.
