Recently, I am observing relatively frequent cases of UI simply freezing - although still updating content. It happens mostly upon typing into text fields.

Anyone else notice this?

On two machines (both Linux) by the way, but with different graphics adapters (one with some onboard Intel, one with an older Nvidia).

@cweickhmann Haven’t encountered this myself. Given how different the two systems are, my next questions would be

1) is it on all webpages or just specific ones?

2) does it happen without extensions enabled? (Assuming you have a similar set of extensions on both machines)

3) how long does it freeze? It’s always possible that I’m just not sensitive enough to these sorts of hiccups to have noticed.

@dgkf 1) I can't see a pattern, so I would say it happens everywhere every now and then.

2) I've got a couple of extensions, but different ones for the two systems. I'll see what disabling them changes. Good idea, thanks!

3) It's basically a total lock-up. I've not let it go on for longer than maybe two minutes because I need that browser to work.

@cweickhmann Ah, that’s pretty severe! then I would have definitely noticed if it happened to me!

My first impulse is always to check for extension interactions. Extensions have a lot of capacity to interfere with page behavior and can easily end up fighting eachother. Just to throw out a theoretical example, if you had extensions for spell checking and grammar checking and they both update text input on change, they could enter into a feedback loop with each other and freeze the page
