@Toxic_Flange These caps aren't there for security, they're there to shield RF interference and make life less miserable for the embedded designers ;-)

@giulio_mattioli Well, have you tried to take a selfie video in front of your utilities bill or the utilities company's website?

Also: behaviourally we're car addicts much more than we're heating addicts. And that's particularly true for the ones who made the most fuzz.

What I find fascinating about this ⬇️ is that car fuel prices increased *much less* than domestic energy prices, and went back to normal much earlier.

So why did they get *so much* political and media attention in the spring?

RT @LionHirth@twitter.com

I always wonder why there is so much political activity when gasoline prices go up. And so little when they drop.

German gasoline prices are now below Feb-24 levels.

You think news are fast nowadays? Think again: This article posted a few days ago (2022-12-15) on @netzpolitik_feed discusses a (quite frankly) revolutionary law in that forces manufacturers to either have spare parts ready or make the drawings available for third parties to 3d print said parts (Article L111-4 du Code de la consommation).

Once you check out the actual text of the law (which is hosted on a government website and not like in Germany on some shady government appointed 3rd party website 🤔 ), you realise that the article is in effect since the 1st January of 2022, i.e. almost a year prior to the article posted on netzpolitik.org.

This brings me back to the same old story: We, as a European society, suuuuuuck at communicating with each other.

The Netzpolitik article is great, but it's about a year too late. I cannot find a single article on , , or on this topic.

What about other countries?

@beandev

On 16 December the Council of the #EU adopted the 9th package of #sanctions in response to Russia’s invasion of #Ukraine.

These hard-hitting measures follow Russia’s continued escalation and deliberate attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure.

The EU will continue to support Ukraine and its people. 🇪🇺 🇺🇦

Read through the 9th package in the #OfficialJournal…

…and find some details below.

The new package contains asset freezes and travel bans against close to 200 additional individuals & entities. ❄️⛔

The latest additions include key figures involved in Russia’s vicious and intentional missile strikes against civilians, kidnapping of Ukrainian children and theft of Ukrainian agricultural products.

This brings the total to over 1,500 'listings'. So far, almost 18 billion EUR of assets belonging to listed individuals & entities have been frozen in the EU.

Sensitive dual-use goods and advanced technology items have also been targeted in the 9th package. 🎛️

In particular, the new rules cut Russia’s access to all sorts of drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), as they restrict exports of drone engines to Russia and the export to any third countries, such as Iran, where there is suspicion that these will be used in Russia. 🛩️
