I follow about 50 accounts on Threads, mostly science and tech, and post occasionally about science and tech.

Yet, this is what the Threads algorithm thinks is of interest to me.

So far Threads has been 100% useless. Looks like I’m not the only one, judging from @reichenstein‘s posts of his experience.

Yeah, I've also dabbled and get a lot of dross.

You also get the feel of running against the algorithm headwind when you don't have many followers. My posts are almost completely ignored (even generic ones with a nice photo), whereas on Mastodon they stand half a chance of getting some comments and replies.

@gpollara @marcelsalathe @reichenstein I think in principle we should not give Zuckerberg more free information & content

@cyrilpedia @gpollara @marcelsalathe Yes. Now take a step back and observe. Do you see how the algorithm operates? It pushes OF actors to the top and triggers those who feel both attracted and rejected by the supposed superior immorality of those completely fictional icy young women. I think only an algorithm (or agent Smith) could figure out that this is how you grow a social network. Everyone else would think that this is how you'd run a Sado Maso shop. SM for real.
