"In addition, histological analysis of patients with ICI-associated myocarditis revealed a large number of T-cell infiltration in cardiac muscle, skeletal muscle, and tumor tissues, and further T cell receptor (TCR) sequencing of the infiltrating lymphocytes revealed a high degree of clonal amplification of all three, as well as muscle-specific antigens detected in tumor tissues, suggesting that the cardiac muscle and the tumor tissues express common antigens that are used as targets by ICIs to attack and cause myocardial injury, which may be one of the mechanisms of ICI-associated cardiotoxicity [63]."
