She became the first female American to receive a PhD in mathematics from a European university, namely the University of Göttingen in Germany. She was also the first person to translate Hilbert's problems into English.

The light from Euclid’s #telescope passes through the grism, which splits light from every star and galaxy by wavelength.

This information can be pulled out and analysed to determine the type of #galaxy and what its distance is.
