One can best appreciate, from a study of living things, how primitive physics still is.

Erasing the record should not happen.

'Problems with the study were severe enough that its publisher, after finding that the paper violated ethics guidelines, formally withdrew it within a few months of its publication in 2021. The study was then wiped from the internet, leaving behind a barren web page that said nothing about the reasons for its removal.'

'As dificuldades do SNS não afetam apenas os profissionais de saúde que nele trabalham ou os utentes que a ele recorrem. Para os estudantes de Medicina, é também a qualidade da sua formação que fica em causa, já que grande parte dela é feita no SNS'

"In a phase 2 trial involving participants with multiple sclerosis, inhibition of CD40L with frexalimab had an effect that generally favored a greater reduction in the number of new gadolinium-enhancing T1-weighted lesions at week 12 as compared with placebo."

'The center of the movie, however, is the music. Tavernier, Maxine Gordon writes, “insisted that all the music would be recorded live as the musicians were filmed.” The musicians in “ ’Round Midnight” don’t play watered-down jazz. Although the numbers are condensed, much shorter than is usual on records or in concerts, the performances themselves are almost all full-strength, unadulterated modern jazz.'

Anyone shocked by the death of #AlexeiNavalny hasn't been paying attention to how #VladimirPutin 'does' #politics.

Anyone thinking the outrage expressed by the Global leaders this weekend will lead to a sea-change in how they deal with #Russia is (I'm afraid) likely to be proven way too optimistic.

Anyone who thinks this death is different to the countless victims of Putin's regime is missing the point!

Putin is a murderer, always has been.... always will be.

Ignore that at your peril!

#STS scholars, social media scholars, anyone….: Are there any good reviews on gender differences in attitudes to consent and privacy issues surrounding online social media that you could recommend?

and, likewise, for cross-cultural attitudes?

@largess @Ruth_Mottram Every cent of government subsidy for airlines has to move to rail (and to facilitate the transition of airline employees)

>69% of Europeans would be willing to give up 1% of their income each month to fight #ClimateChange

Well, they just have to stop flying, sell their cars and cycle and catch PT and make sure their houses are really well insulated. All of those that would save them money, no need to "pay extra" and would be a massive emissions saving

I'd suggest what they mean is they want to keep up their high emisisons lifestyle and have some dues ex machina tech invention allow then to keep doing it and for that fantasy they'd pay 1%

Aspirations aside, the poor aren't the issue in clinate change, they don't emit, if the rich lived more like the poor are forced to, we'd solve this.

Cold War Relic:

"Deep beneath the headquarters of the Linnean Society, in Burlington House on Piccadilly, is a bomb-proof room built at the height of the Cold War to protect the collections of the Swedish naturalist Carl von Linné, more commonly known by his Latinised name, Linnaeus."

Many people still believe that heat pump technology is a recent innovation and therefore unproven.

The truth is that heat pump technology has been established for almost 170 years.

The first heat pump as we know it today was built by Peter von Rittinger in 1856.

An interesting development: UKRI has "pre-announced" a round of #metascience research grants that "will support projects using scientific methods to deepen our understanding of how different structures, incentives, and funding practices within the Research and Development (R&D) system shape scientific research outputs and career outcomes".
