Swiss explorer and author Isabelle Eberhardt was born #OTD in 1877. She became interested in North Africa, and was considered a proficient writer on the subject despite learning about the region only through correspondence. After an invitation from photographer Louis David, Eberhardt moved to Algeria in May 1897. She dressed as a man & converted to Islam, eventually adopting the name Si Mahmoud Saadi. via @wikipedia

Erasing the record should not happen.
'Problems with the study were severe enough that its publisher, after finding that the paper violated ethics guidelines, formally withdrew it within a few months of its publication in 2021. The study was then wiped from the internet, leaving behind a barren web page that said nothing about the reasons for its removal.'

Anyone shocked by the death of #AlexeiNavalny hasn't been paying attention to how #VladimirPutin 'does' #politics.
Anyone thinking the outrage expressed by the Global leaders this weekend will lead to a sea-change in how they deal with #Russia is (I'm afraid) likely to be proven way too optimistic.
Anyone who thinks this death is different to the countless victims of Putin's regime is missing the point!
Putin is a murderer, always has been.... always will be.
Ignore that at your peril!

Well, they just have to stop flying, sell their cars and cycle and catch PT and make sure their houses are really well insulated. All of those that would save them money, no need to "pay extra" and would be a massive emissions saving
I'd suggest what they mean is they want to keep up their high emisisons lifestyle and have some dues ex machina tech invention allow then to keep doing it and for that fantasy they'd pay 1%
Aspirations aside, the poor aren't the issue in clinate change, they don't emit, if the rich lived more like the poor are forced to, we'd solve this.
