So I tried #bluesky and it looks very much like #twitter, another for-profit platform with algorithms that have a danger of creating mobs, but in addition it is invite-only and has no functionality for literature bots. So far #mastodon looks better for #academicchatter

A great soul has passed. Rosalynn Carter, wife of President Jimmy Carter, passed away today at age 96. A humanitarian through to the end, she was a fierce advocate for mental health issues. She brought grace and kindness to the White House. She was a treasure. She will be missed.
