Let's be clear.
What @SuellaBraverman proposes is that the UK Executive, of any political hue, is able to:
* Ignore all laws currently on the statute book;
* Ignore any obligations given in International agreements, treaties, and conventions; and
* Remove all judicial review.

This is what Germany did in 1933 when it passed the Enabling Act. It is what Putin and Xi do now.
It would make the UK a dictatorship.

Braverman and her caballers are pure fascists.

"In fact, research indicates that, in labs where postdocs are more engaged, PhD students can be 4 times as likely to have positive skill development; mentoring by principal investigators had no discernible statistical effect on the same variable"

"Finding a story to tell in the complexity of your work will sometimes be tricky. It’s always worth starting with the end in mind. You are trying to get attention and you’re trying to get a reaction. This might lead to curiosity and the ultimate goal: engagement."

"The whole game of intellectual ownership here has been so stylised that it is hard to discern the purpose, even if we all recognise the rules. For example, when the second paragraph of this column lifted 13 words verbatim from the King James Bible, was that plagiarism? Obviously not. But only because everyone knows that I was quoting from the Bible. If the copying is blatant enough, it is no longer plagiarism but homage."

"How exactly the drug prevents major cardiac events isn’t fully understood. Some of the effects can likely be chalked up to weight loss itself, which is associated with improvements in metrics that influence heart health, such as blood pressure, Yang said. But mechanisms independent of weight loss may also be at work. In the trial, lower rates of cardiovascular events began showing up before participants lost weight. One explanation is the drug’s impact on inflammation, which is associated with heart disease: C-reactive protein, a rough proxy for inflammation, dropped by nearly 40 percent in study participants."

**Where are the universities in the Fediverse?**

Why don't universities have their own Mastodon instances yet?

Why don't students get a Mastodon handle when they enrol?

Why don't universities host lecture videos on PeerTube in the Fediverse?

There is a lot to be said for universities getting more involved in the Fediverse.

A call that can only be supported! #boost

When a doctor makes a public statement about a medical issue, we expect them to tell the truth & not mislead people.The UK’s General Medical Council (GMC) investigates doctors whose behaviour m falls below what might be reasonably expected but is not investigating docs spreading vax misinformation goodlawproject.org/crowdfunder

"Given that up to 20% of clinical trial costs is related to the manual transfer and verification of data from the electronic medical record to a data capture system, as well as the site monitoring of such data, all of which are readily automated tasks, the application of AI to clinical trials could be revolutionary and is likely necessary."
