Hans Geiger died #OTD in 1945.

He is best known as the co-inventor of the detector component of the Geiger counter and for the Geiger–Marsden experiment which discovered the atomic nucleus. He was the brother of meteorologist and climatologist Rudolf Geiger. via @wikipedia

The "piment d'Espelette" is a famous product of the area.
It tastes wonderful. You sprinkle a bit of it over your cooked dish or add it in the last minute of cooking. It develops a warm and rich spiceness from your dish's temperature.

Ten simple rules for a mom-friendly Academia

I haven’t looked at the details but I would also add: update the parental leave laws so that they equally apply to both parents and somehow update our mentality as a society so that women are not almost always the ones taking care of the children.
