@Wifiwits @andycarolan Hybrids seem clunky to me but have their place. In-laws got one last year and saw immediate reduction in fuel spending. And obviously local emissions reduced as it tends to use the battery.
OTOH - weight and increased damage on roads is another factor to consider.

@bencurthoys @Daojoan Is there. Way to create your blog post and then automate the threading of it? I follow a couple of people who provide the blog post link at the end, but don't know how that's done.

@dahukanna @Daojoan My go-to place for technical advice on a deeper query, as well as some more leisurely chats, is a 30 year old BBS. Search for a term within a file is lightning fast so I can look back on previous comments by an individual, date or topic.

Real-time chat does not have curation or conversation structure for it to hold useful knowledge for posterity.
There is no inbuilt “posterity”, only forever present “now”.
Analogy - it’s like trying to read a book whose paragraphs are random ordered, some are missing, some pages are gummed together, etc.

it´s what you build when you are used to receiving a service instead of doing the work yourself.
those services show a complete lack of understanding in the value of the work.
@Daojoan I keep coming back to this Leisure Class idea. For a certain group who are elite but also in denial, It's beneath a certain group to do manual labour, but to pay for a servant to provide is also the privilege their parents observed. Of course it's the same generational wealth that got them to Stanford and MIT, and allowed them the luxury of dropping out.

Level 1 : the issue is that current tech world is dominated by kids doing a tantrum.
Level 2 : is the issue with the current patriarchal society that takes for granted women's work without never compensating ot as it should, hence believing all of this caring work should be done for free, hence targeting very low fees for substitute services.

If you've not seen that show, Black Mirror have pretty much done all the dystopian tech stories over the last decade or so. And yet we still didn't learn.
@Grootinside @RustyBertrand Saw that at the cinema at the time and it was just too close to home. Lot of good political comedies around that time: Bob Roberts, Bullworth, Primary Colours come to mind.
