Now passed basic user training on discourse.
Is there a reason why the text appears as it does?, as in off centre,. any svg editing experts out there know how to fix this ?
@zleap Did you resize, change the aspect ratio of the image? Mine was clearly a much wider image, 16 x 9 or so ratio.
I posted it somewhere. If you want to edit, take a snapshot and use normal graphics editing tools.
@zleap So how did you like the tutorial? I found it quite interesting, well made.
@rgx Same here, other than the odd hiccup with it, worked well., onto the more advanced one at some point.

Surprising that the format changes so much from one to another.
@rgx @design_RG I could do with a way to grab a blank and add my name rather than zleap to it. But do so without struggling with a graphics package. It never works when I do it.
Here, I got in idea and just tested it. The certificate generator will just create the image on demand, based on a forum user ID parameter.
So this one is mine :

...while changing the ID to '1' -- will result in one made for Matt, the founder of write.as, and first user in forum.
If you register an account there, username being your complete name, proper capitalization -- all you need is the User ID number to use in this string and get the image without any text hacking.
Another idea -- you could Quickly Edit your discourse forum Username, to full name, just for getting the nice certificate snapshot and saving it.
If you can't do it, let me know as I could, via Admin panel.
Then we can reverse it, once you saved the image (take a screenshot, and save to jpeg file).

@zleap @design_RG Your Forum name was with all lower case letters, right ? 'zleap' ?
Let me know if it was different, on my snapshot above it showed all lower case, and I restore it to that after taking the picture.

It was an interesting challenge. 🙂
Hardest part was finding your forum user ID. Done it by iteration, and it took quite a few tries.
I will do the more advanced course at some point soon.
@zleap @design_RG I would like to take that one myself too.
And was thinking -- that I should try and collate the info on how to access the Tutorials, posting it in a new topic, as it's not intuitive or even publicized properly.
The Basic Tutorial is very good, I was impressed by how it flowed, nice use of technology.
@rgx @design_RG Agreed, I would encourage others to undertake the basic training at least.
