It means people who were tested, whose results are finished and did not show signs of the virus in their sample.

The lucky ones, for now at least.

@freemo

Laptops are changing quickly. The future is one where some people carry locally-powerful workstations, while some go to the other extreme: cloud-based thin-clients.

@DOLPHE2168 Hello, could you explain what you link leads to?

I am curious but don't like clicking blindly on a post, so I am asking. Thank you! 😃

@sda Related link, which I found yesterday : https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/04/14/state-department-cables-warned-safety-issues-wuhan-lab-studying-bat-coronaviruses/

@sda Disagree, of course, with the first statement; a question of opinion and familiarity with the many obnoxious men who sometimes were in the position of presiding over the US.

For me, the current one has a big shot at the Top title.

The Japanese internment camps were indeed a shame, inhumane and caused a lot of pain and losses for all the people hearded into them. Truthfully, not a good moment on FDR's administrations.

@Hypolyto Que bueno que ellos te encontraran, Hypolito. Gracias por socorrerlos!

It's really Important, but GOP hates the idea of making voting Easier and more accessible. Trump even says so.

@W10x12_UNO@mastodon.sdf.org Very true.

Hoover was apparently a very competent Engineer, with international experience, but the situation he received was mind boggling and very difficult to handle; specially when the man in charge is tied to a conservative, plutocratic party.

True also that the choices of possible electable leaders are not great; the disaster who is in charge now, or an uninspiring democrat. Sadly their good candidates fell along the way.

I would like to see Elizabeth Warren, if she could get the VP position at least that would give people hope and a reason for progressive people to vote on that ticket.

Cycle Touring in France seems to be really nice. Best to speak the language, at least on a minimum level, so we can get along without expecting local residents to know English.

A one week route, nice photos on a full report. Via Rhona.

Back in the 30's (and possibly the last Depression, we might be headed into a new one now), the US was lucky to have a Visionary president. FDR, so unlike the man now in power.

"Why Do Cats Run the Internet? A Scientific Explanation"

Nice article. Some partial quotes :

- But the reason that cats have catapulted to cyber-fame isn’t purely biological: There are social factors at play as well. Steve Dale, a cat behavior consultant and pet journalist, told me that cat aficionados have been particularly drawn to the Internet because they lack other public safety valves where they can express their affection. “In the world of cats, there is no dog park,” Dale says. “For cat owners, the dog park is the Internet.”

- The most compelling explanation for our interest in cats, however, may be the most simple: we’re in awe of them. Nagelschneider told me that we’re inclined to watch cats climbing trees or walking upside down on walls because we wish we could do so ourselves—or, in her words, “When we are watching these videos, they just blow our minds.” To whatever extent that's true, it's certainly worth a click.
