I'm frequently annoyed at how limited the number of people is who know about free alternatives to non-free services, especially stuff on which giant corporations have a near-monopoly on.
I'm starting to think that the ability of Mastodon to displace Twitter might become a question of the number and capacity of available instances, rather than people willing to give it a try.
"After buying #Twitter, Musk tweeted "the bird is freed". Now it looks like it's Twitter's users that are flying free, and exiting the platform"
