My mom grew up picking cotton in the 1950s. Yesterday, she waited in line to once again pick her son to represent Georgia in the U.S. Senate. We’ve come a long way, but the work isn’t done!
Please vote, Georgia 🗳

I said that Mastodon moderation wouldn't scale, I was wrong. The cultural differences will likely continue to maintain a friendlier atmosphere regardless of size.

Link to the study in Science Advances mentioned by #60Minutes correlating genes for hyper sociability in dogs to that of humans with Williams-Beuren Syndrome.
For all us #dog lovers, #60minutes ' recent look at the evolution of dogs and how it intertwined with humans. #Genetics studies suggest that both Homo sapiens and Canis familiaris mutually evolved with friendliness genes that improved each other's survival. Other #gene studies of both species are helping to find new anti-cancer treatments.

I took this photo at the start of the #GoldenEagle #Festival, October 8, 2019. Those fortunate enough, like me, to make it to this remote location were greeted by about a dozen mounted #Kazakh #eagle #hunters, who slowly rode their horses through the crowd, an eagle on their arm. I’ve been all over the world, but this festival ranks in my top three most amazing experiences.
Taken at the base of the Altai Mountains, outside of Bayan-Ulgii, #Mongolia, and ~100 mi/160 km from the nearly intersecting borders of Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Russia, and China.

Looks like Xi Jinping and the CCP have a lot on their hands. Protests continue to spread to other cities. The Zero #CoVID policy is being blamed on the deaths of more than 10 people trapped in an apartment building.

THE LORD’S PRAYER 5.0:
Our Father on Mastodon,
Harold be thy name.
Thy follows come,
Thy toots be done,
On the Fediverse as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily boosts,
And forgive us our replies as we also have forgiven those who have replied against us,
Lead us not into Twitter,
But deliver us from the evil one, Elon Musk.
For the kingdom, the power and the favorites are yours forever,
Amen 🙏
